The 2020’s edition of the London Field Trip was held between the 14th and the 18th of September. The main goal of this trip was to get a first-hand contact with the real financial world. This year, we made the decision to host an entirely virtual event for the first time due to the global health crisis and keeping in mind safety considerations.
The 11th London Field Trip, has taught our new members that it is still possible to make valuable and relevant connections in a virtual environment. During our week, we successfully arranged meetings with major players in the financial landscape, such as Blackrock, NatWest Markets, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, Schroders and Nordea.
As finance students working towards an international career in the Financial Services industry, the opportunity to directly connect with experienced professionals in the industry, gaining an insight into their daily life, was a unique and valuable experience. Most of the programs at the companies were hosted by NIC’s Alumni.
We believe our expectations and goals on the trip were fully accomplished. The trip was the perfect way to start the Masters degree in Finance, by gaining real insights on the financial environment and know how it is to be part of this complex world. Moreover, being in direct contact with the HR departments allowed us to be better prepared for the recruitment processes.
